THE EXPLORER, FOREVER IN PURSUIT

About a year ago we had the pleasure of meeting Todd. From the first moment we met we knew he was an "explorer", the traveler who seeks to create paths in uncharted territories then turns around and inspires others to seek out those same paths as he guides them along the way through his words. He embodied the explorer so much that we modeled our explorer archetype around him. For explorers it's not enough to go out into the world and have a bunch of meaningless adventures. Explorers are on a mission, a mission to FEEL EVERY MOMENT OF LIFE, and those moments must be met with depth and novelty. Todd, as other explorers set out to do, lives a life that is balanced by his dreams, desire for [some] stability, and his insatiable appetite for personal growth.

As our Explorer archetype, we often reach out to Todd for inspiration, insight, and guidance. Over the last year this routine has fostered a friendship founded on a common desire to create a movement that will inspire others to live deeper fuller lives through travel. During one of our deep dives, we were generating a list of travelers to interview. Naturally Todd was on our list. When we reached out and sent a list of the topics we would be covering, Todd responded in his typical explorer way. He went to his thought bank and pulled out an article that was perfectly suited for the conversation being covered.

Why WiGo is the Adventure Your Heart has been Searching for

Article by Mark Turner | WiGo Trips Blogger, Adventurist, and Dreamer

"Travel to Inspire

       Travel to Grow

Travel to Set your Soul on fire!"

If you are someone who has heard the voice in your head tell you “there's so much more”, this read is for you. For those with a sense of adventure and an unshakable desire to create compelling experiences with others, this is also for you. Whichever category you fall in, know that life has led you exactly where you need to be.

Let’s get right into it.

I wasn’t always a believer that travel was within my means. In fact, I thought it was downright impossible for someone like me to travel the way I get to now. While I may have believed that there wasn’t a means to travel without being wealthy (I was so wrong), I was always listening and keeping an open mind to the trajectory my path was on. I knew if I listened to that feint little voice telling me to wake up and go live my life the way I envision then eventually ill wind up exactly where I need to be. So, I kept listening and kept taking massive action and whadda ya know? Sure, enough, I was surrounded by incredible like-minded people, that I had the pleasure of taking trip after trip with that changed the very embodiment of who I am as a person in miraculous ways.Tackling life as an adventure head on without dwelling on the “what if?”

How to Plan a Group Trip

When planning a group trip there are six things to consider. Geographic location, budget, what to do, where to stay, when to go, and who is going to go with you.
Geographic location:
Inspired by your ancestry? Maybe an excursion video? Maybe it was a friend or a Pinterest post? Whatever it is, the best way to plan a trip is to first figure out your destination.

Budget:
Figure a budget that works for you and your time frame. Get a feel for travel expenses. Have your budget money read at least a month before the trip for the most cost efficient booking.

Map It Out:
Even if you're a spontaneous fox, map out what makes the place unique before finding a place to stay unless you are planning a trip around a specific hotel. Look for the novelty. Is there a hot air balloon festival? Maybe a flamingo beach? What about a Taco Bell that serves alcohol?

Timing is Everything:
This step is often forgotten when planning a trip. You may be looking at what times work for you and your work schedule, but you need to be checking flights, weather, and events. Do you have a passport? If not, you need to give yourself enough time to apply and get it back. If you skip this step it may rain on your parade!

Find Your Stay:
Where will you unwind after your adventurous day? Search for something close to the activities you want to invest in. It could save your budget and your time. Will you be staying at an Airbnb, a host, or maybe at that classy five star resort you saw on Facebook.

Share it:
Lastly, share your trip with other like-minded people! Who you take is just as important as where you go, so choose wisely! Put all your hard work together in one spot, we of course recommend using the WiGo Trips app, and get ready to share with your network who will surely admire all your hard work!

Have fun and happy travels!
