An interview with Daniella Pascale, WiGo Trips ambassador
Sometimes the best experiences are on our own doorstep. This is certainly the case for WiGo Trips ambassador Daniella Pascale, 24, from New York.
Her aim is to visit every state in the US and inspire others to do the same. With America being such a diverse and vast country, there’s certainly plenty to see.
While many people are motivated to travel because of the documentaries they see on TV, for Daniella, studying film and theatre production was what inspired her desire to travel more.
She explained: “I just love having all those videos and memories of all these different cool places that I’ve been. Most of the places I have travelled to have been within the United States. I’m from New York, so I’ve travelled to many places within the northeast area and mostly places that are considered historical like Philadelphia, Boston and Washington DC. I’ve been out of the country twice, once to Niagara Falls and once to Cancun, which had many beaches.”
After working as a camp counsellor, Daniella realized that there was still much of the country that she had not seen.
So that’s when she joined the team at WiGo Trips, which allowed her to travel across the United States with like-minded people.
She said: “I realized how much I hadn’t traveled my own country. One of the great things about WiGo Trips is that I can travel within my own country and explore where I grew up with other people and discover all these things I didn’t know existed about where I’m from.”
Her bucket list includes Memphis Tennessee, which still remains under the radar for many travelers. She also plans to organize trips to Nevada and Arizona.
“Nevada has Las Vegas and Arizona has the Grand Canyon. These are places I’ve only ever seen in pictures and that is something that will be really interesting to see. I also plan to get some really interesting photos and videos.”
Collecting Mementos and Memories From Across The US
After Nevada and Arizona, Daniella plans to organize trips to every other state in the US and collect a postcard from each of them as a memento.
She said: “Whenever I go to a new place, I like to get a postcard from every place I go. I have so many postcards and in the future I plan to get a postcard from every State, so I can say that I’ve been everywhere in the US.”
However, for Daniella, the real fun comes from the people she travels with. In the past, she has traveled with friends to Disneyland California, which was the real highlight of her journeys so far.
That is also one of the great things about WiGo Trips. Wherever you plan to travel, WiGo Trips makes it easy to join a group with similar interests. While there are many spectacular places to see in the world, it is the people that can make or break a journey.
After conquering the United States, Daniella also has her sights set on Europe, starting with Italy and Ireland, which she has ancestral connections to. However, rather than heading for the bigger cities and the mainstream tourist traps, her ambition is to discover the cultural heritage of the smaller villages and cities.
“Just Do It”
Daniella’s advice to anyone thinking of travelling is to go out there and have their own experiences, particularly if they have any cultural ties or connections to other places.
She said: “Think of the places you’ve always dreamed of going when you were young. Visit places that you are personally interested in, as well as places where you have a certain connection with, whether it is cultural, emotional or ancestral.”
However more than anything - Daniella has encouraged anyone who is new to traveling or perhaps does not have anyone to travel with, to sign up with Wigo Trips.
“Check out WiGo Trips, because it is really cool. I just love the fact that you can travel with your friends and travel with people who have similar interests or are in the same age group as you,” she added.
But what about you? Have you had any amazing experiences overseas? We’d love to hear your stories!
